Under the patronage of Major General Faraj Salmin Al-Behesni, Governor of Hadramout Province, the Management of  Research Development and Training in the governorate office, in partnership with Dar Al-Ma’arif for Research and Statistics, launched the workshop “return of emigrants and challenge the crisis” on Monday 7/5/2018, which lasted for three days at Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Hadramout. Which was headed by Mr. Saeed Bawazir, economic advisor and former head of the Chamber of Commerce.

The workshop started by reciting Quran by Mr. Abdullah Al-Saadi, secretary general of the association of expatriates students in Hadramout. Pro. Arwa Mohammed Bin Abdul-Mana, director General of the management of  Research Development and Training, spoke about the blessing of Major General Faraj Salemin Al-Bassani for the workshop, thanking the sponsors and all those who participated and presented ideas, research and dissertations that contributed finding realistic solutions to the crisis of the expatriates return. She also talked about the suffering of expatriates in the other country of the economic conditions in the imposition of tax charges and deductions, not to mention the suffering that awaits them in their homeland, hoping the workshop would come up with recommendations and solutions that will be presented to the leadership of the governorate and to be applied on the ground and not to be remain locked in drawers like the ones before.

The representative of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Hadramout said that “such a workshop should be enriched by many studies and logical ideas, as the current conditions are not ready to provide what was established in the crisis of expatriates in 1990,” stressing on the economic side and the absorption of capital, the establishment of joint stock companies to stimulate the wheel of economic development.

In a related context, Mr. Saeed Abdullah Bakran, chairman of alDar, talked about the importance of this workshop, especially at this time, which comes in a humanitarian crisis with the return of expatriates, and that Dar Al Ma’arif will provide all that would lead to get results and solutions that help to develop a practical strategy by the provinc’s leadership that will lessen the suffering of expatriates.

The researcher, Ahmed Abdullah Bafdal, member of the faculty of the Community College in Sioun, presented his research paper entitled “Investment opportunities for expatriates to invest in the field of economic and social infrastructure in Hadramout”, in which he discussed the reasons for partnership between the public and private sectors, the role of agriculture in land use, fertilizer production and farmers’ support, In addition to the fisheries sector in supporting fishermen and providing facilities, and providing many ideas and recommendations in order to involve expatriates in the labor sector.

Following this, Pro. Salem Abdul-Majid Al-Bayd, a member of the faculty at Al-Rayyan University, presented his research paper entitled “Consumer Behavior of  Expatriates and its role in stimulating small projects.” He pointed to the definition of consumer, consumer behavior, explanatory factors, decision-making steps for individuals, And its contribution to Gross domestic product. In its paper, he recommended that those concerned should provide financial, legal and advisory support to small projects.

In addition, a number of general directors, ministries and institutions and some expatriates, overlapped in workshop, and presented proposals and many ideas that would contribute to finding rational and logical solutions.

It is worth mentioning that the local authority is very interested in this workshop to come up with recommendations and radical solutions to the coming crisis with the return of the expatriates. The workshops will last for three days and will focus on three main aspects: the economic aspect that was presented this morning, the social aspect which will be presented tomorrow and the security and services aspect that will be presented on the last day
